- Faculty Appointment | Pediatric Gastroenterologist
Description
Greetings from Louisville! On the first Saturday in May, I had the unforgettable experience of attending my first Kentucky Derby. The energy of the city and the excitement at the track were truly incredible—it’s a celebration like no other.
Our Pediatric GI Division is growing rapidly. We will soon include 6 physicians and 4 nurse practitioners, with approval to hire up to 3 additional faculty in 2026. Our goal is to add 12 to 15 faculty within the next 3 to 5 years.
We are actively recruiting academic pediatric gastroenterologists with interests in both general and subspecialty care. Our program offers:
- 7 clinical sessions per week (including endoscopy)
- Compensation north of $70/wRVU
- Embedded support team: psychologist, social workers, dietitians, nurses, and medical assistants
- A collaborative and supportive academic environment
We’ve also received internal approval to launch a Pediatric GI Fellowship and will be recruiting a Program Director. The fellowship builds on a strong training pipeline with 75+ pediatric residents in Louisville and over 140 statewide.
We are actively recruiting faculty to help develop general GI and subspecialty programs in:
- Motility
- We can support external training with faculty interest to grow into a motilist.
- We have a world-class adult motility program
- Clinical Nutrition, led by a dedicated Director of Nutrition
- Ideally, advanced fellowship-trained, but not a requirement
- Aerodigestive
- In collaboration with two dedicated ENT surgeons & pulmonologists
- Therapeutic endoscopy, including:
- Pancreas program with ITP expansion
- Dedicated pediatric colorectal surgery
- Hereditary polyposis center
